Big Daddy’s is a fantastic restaurant located in Boquete, Chiriqui. It is located on the main road as you enter the heart of the town. The food is incredible and affordable. The service is good and there are a lot of different dishes to choose from. I ordered the shrimp po’ boy with remoulade sauce. It was DELICIOUS!!! I could not believe I had found a decent shrimp po’ boy outside the New Orleans area. I was impressed. My daughter had a veggie burger, which she absolutely loved. If you are in Boquete, you must stop here and enjoy the wonderful food. You will not be disappointed.
The new Cafe Unidos in Multiplaza is beautifully decorated and offers the same delicious food and coffee as in the other branches. It is in the new section of the mall down from Hermes, so it has a quiet and relaxing atmosphere. Drop by and check it out. You won’t be sorry. My personal favorite is the iced latte with one of the tasty wraps they offer.
Here in Panama, when we want to say something is nice or “cool”, we use the word “pritty”. It’s the Panamanian version of pretty. If you are in Casco Viejo and really want to try some authentic Panamanian food, then I suggest you visit the Fonda Pritty Pritty. It is right across from the Policia Nacional (the police station) so it is safe. A lot of the local policeman have breakfast and lunch here on a daily basis. The prices are cheap and the food is the “real deal”. If you are feeling really adventurous, you might want to stroll straight on down the street and check out the deals on Avenida B. It is full of stores that sell all kinds of merchandise. However, do not take anything of value because this area can be DANGEROUS, especially for tourists.
The other day I was walking around the Casco and decided to enter Casa Sucre Coffeehouse. It was my first time there and I have to say I really liked the ambiance. The service was very good. I had some coffee and some quiche. I will definitely be returning to try some of the sandwiches.
Tacontento is a Mexican food franchise in Multiplaza Mall. If you enjoy Mexican food you should be able to find something delicious on their extensive menu to please your palate. The decor is lovely and very colorful. The service is good although you may have to wait in line for a while. The prices are affordable and the food is good, so give it a try.

Diablicos sucios are part of Panama’s folklore. They represent the fight between good and evil in the traditional Panamanian dances. This particular diablico can be found adorning the outside of a local restaurant in Casco Viejo that goes by the same name. Click on the links below if you would like to read more about this tradition or visit the restaurant which offers traditional food and entertainment.
Las Clementinas is a beautiful, upscale cafe in Casco Viejo. It is elegantly furnished and offers a wide variety of national and international dishes. The food is wonderful and the service is top notch and personal. You can choose to dine inside with all the comforts of climate control or you may dine out on the terraza amid the tropical foliage. Either way you are in for a delightful time. http://cascoviejo.com/las-clementinas-cafe-and-bar/
